Tag.Ignitor Launches at the Opening of the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center

The Film Society Lincoln Center (FSLC) is treating audiences to an interactive experience at the unveiling of The Elinor Bunin Monroe Film Center, 144 W. 65th St. On 09 June 2011, select audiences will be given the opportunity to unlock stories and images of the theater’s construction, as well as contribute their own, using Innovent’s “tag.ignitor”, an NFC-enabled technology.

Innovent’s “tag.ignitor” and iOta Tapp’s accessories form the core of this highly immersive audience engagement, allowing audiences to both discover and record geo-located media. Experiencing public installations will never be the same again.

“The film center’s vision to introduce emerging technologies, experience installations, and incorporate innovative speaker panels is coming to fruition, and we are excited to contribute to the vision during launch weekend festivities,” said Antonio Kaplan, CEO of Innovent.

Innovent’s tag.ignitor allows audiences with mobile devices to record and broadcast video and images online and activate NFC-enabled areas around the theater. It also lets them leave geo-located media that future audiences can watch but only when in the same location.

The Innovent team partners with “iOta Tapp™” providing a chic accessory that enables real time social check-ins, rewards and personally immersive experiences. Tapp is small enough to slip into a pocket or clip on a strap, yet powerful enough to hold and use mobile, social, financial, shopping, health, & government credentials, sharing only required elements for each transaction.

Tapp™ works with Near Field Communication or NFC tags. When you tap such a tag, Tapp™ triggers an action such as a Facebook check-in or a coupon instantly texted to the Tapp™ owner’s cell phone. During the launch, a collection of tags and posters that encourage audiences to capture, deliver, and record location-based media are available at the film center.

Independent filmmaker Jason Dasilvia and his AXSmap group are also on board and will be producing a live audience engagement experience. The team of filmmakers acts as media moderators, providing a live backdrop of film and imagery during the speaker panels. The teams will be encouraging live participation from both the online and in theater audiences. The presentations will be available for community viewing and archived for On-Demand community viewing.
